Overview of Services

The Connections In Counselling team provides online (virtual) and in-person therapy to youth/adolescents (14+) and adults. We do not use a "one size fits all" approach. Instead, we offer a wide range of therapeutic modalities which are customized to meet the unique needs of our clients.

Evidence-Based Counselling

Our therapists use evidence-based counselling methods that are thoroughly researched and tailored to meet the needs of the clients we provide service to. Some of the methods we use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness-Based Approaches.

Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know if this is the right fit for me?

The "right fit" between client and counsellor is a very important consideration. To help facilitate this process, we offer a free 20-minute consultation by phone. If for any reason the "fit" does not feel right, we will offer to help connect you with another counsellor - either within or outside of our team.

How long are the counseling sessions?

Our counseling sessions typically last for 50 minutes, however this can vary depending on client need.

What can I expect during my first counseling session?

During your initial counseling sessions, you and your counsellor will engage in conversations to develop a good understanding of who you are and spend time exploring your concerns and goals for therapy which may change over time.

"You are not what has happened to you. You are what you choose to become."

Land Acknowledgement

The land on which the Connections in Counselling Team provides service is situated on the traditional land of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas of the Credit. We are thankful to be able to work and live in the territory now called Ontario. Our team recognizes the historical and ongoing impacts of colonialism on Indigenous peoples and we are committed to supporting the sovereignty of the Indigenous peoples who have been the stewards of these lands. We recognize and understand that in addition to land acknowledgements, we need to be committed to action, education and meaningful dialogue to work towards reconciliation and change.
